Viva Sr. Sto. Niño!
Two Sundays ago, the whole Pandacan joined the other areas in the Philippines in celebrating the feast of Sto. Niño. For a “Pandaqueño” like me, after Christmas and New Year, this is another most awaited and celebrated event of the year.
As part of celebrations, Buling – Buling Festival was held a day before the feast day. Buling – Buling is the official dance festival of the City of Manila in honor of Sto. Niño. It was participated by various schools, business groups and civic organization in and outside of Pandacan.
This year’s celebration was just a preview of a bigger festival that will be held next year in commemoration of the 300 years of Pandacan. I can’t wait to see the festivities next year and I will definitely be there to witness it. For the meantime, let me share the photos I took of the festival.
